Description and Scope

Are you from a research and educational institution or university? You may not be aware that your organisation can benefit from volume discounts or much easier procurement procedures for commercial cloud services! 

The EU-funded OCRE project, which has launched a pan-European tender that allowed more than 10,000 institutions across Europe to easily procure cloud services is already generating millions of Euros in savings for the European research community, and more can stand to benefit from it. This workshop aims to provide an open forum for institutions, NRENs and OCRE’s procurement specialists to meet and ensure that institutions are taking advantages of the benefits provided by the OCRE Cloud Framework. 

The workshop will showcase the OCRE Cloud Framework, how it works and why the majority of European research institutions can benefit from them even if they were unaware of its previous existence, as well as legal tips and tricks to working within the OCRE Cloud Framework. 

Who should attend and why

The webinar is open to all, but the following are highly encouraged to attend, particularly:

  • University or research institution ICT or procurement team members looking for opportunities offered by OCRE
  • NREN representatives interested in learning about the benefits of the OCRE cloud framework
  • Procurement professionals or enthusiasts and EOSC community members curious about replicating the OCRE methodology and business models
